“A child on a farm sees a plane fly overhead and dreams of a faraway place. A traveler on the plane sees the farmhouse… and thinks of home.” – Carl Burns.

I arrived safe and sound in Paris this morning, and after only half of a day here I am thrilled and excited beyond belief. As excited as I am about my time here, though, I found myself reflecting (for all eight hours of my flight because I was unable to sleep at all) on the family and friends I was flying further and further away from. No matter how far or wide I travel or how many wondrous places I visit, no place could ever compare to the people who are important in my life.
